Casa del Soldado receives delegation from Honduras

On July 28, at the historic facilities of the Casa del Soldado, in Washington, DC, the Inter-American Defense Board received the visit of the Delegates of Honduras, Brigadier General Mario Bueso Caballero and Colonel Jayme Toribio Argueta Argueta .

The meeting aimed to further strengthen the traditional ties of friendship and respect that unite the IADB with the Republic of Honduras, one of the founding Member States of the institution, as well as update the country's representatives on important topics. that are currently being developed within the framework of the Board, in areas such as cyber defense, natural disasters, environment, humanitarian aid, maritime security, terrorism, organized crime, human rights and international humanitarian law.

One of the cradles of the formidable Mayan civilization and independent since 1821, the Republic of Honduras is a country in Central America, limited to the north by the Gulf of Honduras, to the east by the Caribbean Sea, to the south by Nicaragua, by the Gulf of Fonseca and through El Salvador and west through Guatemala. Its capital is Tegucigalpa.

The oldest multilateral defense organization in the world, the IADB is a member entity of the OAS and its main objective is to provide, to it and its member states, technical advisory services and education on military and defense matters in the hemisphere, with in order to contribute to compliance with the OAS Charter in its four pillars: Democracy, Human Rights, Security and Development, with a main focus on the Security pillar.
