National Defense College of Honduras visits the IADB

On October 5, the Inter-American Defense Board received a visit from a delegation from the National Defense College of Honduras.

The delegation, led by Colonel José Miguel Mejía Medina, Dean of the National Defense College of Honduras, was made up of officers, professors and students specializing in Defense and National Security.

At the Casa del Soldado, the students were received by Brigadier General Marco Antonio Álvarez Reyes (Mexico), President of the Council of Delegates of the IADB, and by Brigadier General Néstor Zalazar Echauri (Paraguay), Vice President of the Council of Delegates , in addition to General Mario Arnoldo Bueso Caballero, Defense Attaché of the Republic of Honduras.

Within the agenda planned for the exhibition, the students attended a conference, given by Colonel Carlos Meier Hoyuela (Chile), Deputy Director of the Undersecretary of Advisory, on the structure of the Board and some of the main advisory activities it provides. the IADB to its Member States, on important topics, such as the Women, Peace and Security (MPS) agenda, Environmental Protection and Cooperation in Disasters.

Founded in 1991, the National Defense College of Honduras has the mission of “functioning as an Institution of Higher Studies of the National Defense aimed at the preparation of select civil and military personnel, so that in joint action in the fields of National life , participate in National Strategic Planning».
