JID receives visit from the Center for Higher Naval Studies of Mexico

On May 7, the Inter-American Defense Board received the visit of a delegation from the Center for Higher Naval Studies (CESNAV), belonging to the Secretariat of the Navy, Mexican Navy.

Led by Vice Admiral José Héctor Orozco Tocaven, accompanied by two directors and 13 students of the National Security and Geopolitics master's degrees, the delegation was received at the Casa del Soldado by the President of the Council of Delegates of the IADB, General Marco Antonio Álvarez Reyes (Mexico); the Director General of the Secretariat, Major-Brigadeiro do Ar Flavio Luiz de Oliveira Pinto (Brazil); and the Vice President of the Council of Delegates, General Carlos Bazán Barrios (Paraguay).

During the visit, which was part of the CESNAV Strategic Study Trip to Washington, the students had the opportunity to learn about the history, organization and main activities of the IADB, as well as its future challenges, all aimed at promoting cooperation in the field of security and hemispheric defense.

CESNAV is a naval educational center, where Admirals, Captains and Officers of the Mexican Navy, as well as civilian personnel, are academically prepared with postgraduate studies.
