During the informal meeting on November 4, 2025, Ms. Mara Tekach, Executive Director of the Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti (MSS), presented the current situation in Haiti following the adoption of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2793 on September 30, 2025, and its new format, which includes the establishment of the Gang Suppression Force (GSF). This is not a peacekeeping mission, but rather a repressive force to combat criminal gangs; its primary objective is to protect vulnerable populations from escalating violence and prevent the displacement that this inevitably causes.
