On November 11, 2025, in Mexico City, the official opening of the Closing Session of the XXXVI Conference of Commanders of American Armies (CEA) took place. The Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) was represented at the event by the Director General of the IADB Secretariat, Major General Salgado; the Commandant of the Inter-American Defense College, General Heitkamp; the Head of Studies at the CID, General Amador; and the IADB Liaison Officer to the CEA, Colonel Leitão.
The Conference, which takes place from November 10 to 14, aims to present the work carried out by the specialized commissions during the XXXVI Cycle, as well as to carry out the transfer of the leadership of the CEA to Paraguay, the country that will assume responsibility for the XXXVII Cycle (2026–2027).
