On March 26, at the facilities of the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB), the visit was received from the Commander of the Brazilian Army, Army General Tomás Miguel Miné Ribeiro Paiva, who was received by the Director General of the IADB Secretariat, Division General Reinaldo Salgado Beato.
During the meeting, the Director General of the IADB Secretariat highlighted the IADB's strategic role as a technical-military advisory body to the Organization of American States (OAS). He also emphasized its contribution to strengthening security, defense, and hemispheric cooperation through the generation of specialized knowledge, capacity building, and the promotion of confidence-building measures among member states.
Similarly, the importance of the IADB in the articulation and execution of the mandates set forth by the OAS was emphasized, consolidating itself as a fundamental pillar for regional coordination in matters of defense and security in the continent.
