The Council of Delegates of the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) unanimously re-elected, on Tuesday, October 22, the Lieutenant General Luciano José Penna, as President of the aforementioned Council, for the period from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021, and at Major General James E. Taylor, as Director of the Inter-American Defense College (CID), for the period between July 1, 2020 and June 30, 2022.
The IADB Council of Delegates is an advisory body of the Organization of American States (OAS) and is the main regional mechanism for dialogue on security and defense in the hemisphere.
On the other hand, the CID is an international academic institution, linked to the Inter-American Defense Board, that develops programs of academic excellence in defense and security and related disciplines, maintaining its focus on the hemisphere.
