Captain Luciano Moraes (Brazil), Cyber Defense advisor of the Inter-American Defense Board, had an outstanding participation as a speaker during the V Cyber Security and Defense, an event held within the framework of the IX SITDEF-2023, International Technology Exhibition for the Defense and Prevention of Disasters held in Lima, Peru, between May 18 and 20, 2023.
Within the topic “Cyber Defense and Cooperation”, the representative of the IADB shared relevant statistical information in the area and presented a comprehensive vision of cyber defense, highlighting the importance of this field, in constant evolution, in the daily lives of people, governments and institutions, as well as the growing challenges faced by the activity and the importance of creating cooperation mechanisms to overcome current cyber threats.
The Cyber Defense program of the Inter-American Defense Board was also presented on the occasion, focused on initiatives and strategies aimed at strengthening cybersecurity in the countries of the American hemisphere. In this sense, emphasis was placed on the need to establish a solid cooperation structure between countries, so that cyber challenges can be faced jointly and efficiently.
The presentation aroused great interest among those attending the event, who recognized the importance of cyber defense as a fundamental element for national and regional security, especially in establishing solutions for the protection of critical infrastructures.
Participation in the V Cyber Security and Defense marked a more important step in strengthening cooperation in cyber defense, an initiative that demonstrates the IADB's permanent commitment to promoting and fostering strategic alliances to confront threats, for the benefit of the countries of the American hemisphere.
