Casa do Soldado receives visit from Peruvian Delegate

On January 18, a protocol meeting was held at the “Casa do Soldado” in Washington, DC, an event that brought together leaders of the Inter-American Defense Board (IDB) and representatives of Peru in the institution, consolidating the importance of collaboration and the exchange of courtesies between member states.

On this occasion, General Marco Antonio Álvarez Reyes, President of the Council of Delegates, the Major-Brigadeiro of Ar Flávio Luiz de Oliveira Pinto, General Director of the Secretariat of the JID, received General César Antonio Vassallo Ojea, nominated Alternate Delegate of Peru to the JID , accompanied by military personnel from the Peruvian Armed Forces, currently in attendance at the Junta.

The relevance of the work carried out in promoting hemispheric cooperation and security was a central theme of the meeting, which also highlighted the important role played by the JID in strengthening trust between its member states. The organization, which brings together various nations in America, has as its main objective to contribute to peace, stability and security in the region.

At the end of the meeting, General Álvarez Reyes and Brigadeiro Flávio expressed satisfaction with the courtesy gesture of General Vassalo, highlighting the importance of collaboration and dialogue between the member countries to overcome two challenges. Protocol meetings of this type do not only strengthen the relations between the representations of two countries, but also represent a valuable opportunity to discuss issues of common interest and to promote cooperation in defense and security.
