On November 26 in Miami, the Commander of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States of America, General Joseph F. Dunford, presided over the retirement ceremony of Admiral Kurt W. Tidd, commemorating 40 years of distinguished service.
Additionally, in the afternoon, the Secretary of Defense of the United States of America, General (R) James N. Mattis, conducted the Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) change of command ceremony between Admiral Kurt W. Tidd and Admiral Craig S. Faller.
The three members of the Leadership of the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) participated in these prestigious ceremonies in the company of distinguished attendees, such as Chiefs of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Commanders of Combatant and Service Commands, Ambassadors, also counting on the outstanding presence of the General Cienfuegos of the Secretariat of National Defense of Mexico (SEDENA), Admiral Soberón of the Secretariat of the Navy – Navy of Mexico (SEMAR), General Mejía Commander of the Colombian Military Forces, among others.
