On December 10 of each year, the world celebrates Human Rights Day, remembering the day in 1948 when the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).
The Declaration has inspired many struggles for greater protection of human rights and has contributed to their greater recognition.
In the (almost) 75 years since the proclamation of the Declaration, significant progress has been made in various areas of human rights. However, progress does not mean that the quest to maintain or achieve rights and equality is or will ever end.
In order to promote and strengthen respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law in the Armed Forces of the Hemisphere, the Inter-American Defense Board annually organizes the Seminar on Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law. This activity was carried out within the framework of the celebration of the 80 years of creation of the IADB, where more than 7,500 military personnel and civilians from 37 countries on 4 continents participated.
The video of the seminar can be seen on the IADB YouTube channel ( https://www. youtube.com/watch?v=nOUtZ1erays)
