The workshop will bring together prominent speakers from IADB Member States and various organizations specialized in maritime security, who will address crucial issues related to the adaptation of maritime security forces to the challenges posed by climate change. Representatives from Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala, Guyana, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago and the European Union have confirmed their participation, as well as speakers from the University of Rhode Island and the Inter-American Development Bank. One of the main attractions of the workshop will be the debate on the application of proactive mitigation and adaptation measures, essential for the safety of maritime operations and the protection of coastal populations. Participants will also explore strategies to foster international collaboration and the exchange of good practices, with the aim of strengthening the resilience of coastal communities to the effects of climate change. The complete program of the event can be consulted on our website.

Registration is free and open to all those interested in the topic, from professionals in the sector to members of the global community who wish to contribute to this cause. The event will have simultaneous translation into Portuguese, Spanish and English, guaranteeing accessibility and inclusion of participants from different regions. All those registered for the workshop will receive a certificate, recognizing their participation and commitment to this vital cause.

The workshop will be broadcast live on YouTube, making it easy for people from all over the world to participate. Under the slogans Promote and Strengthen Confidence and Hemispheric Security of the IADB and More Rights for More People of the OAS, the workshop aims to be a milestone in the fight for maritime security adapted to climate challenges.
