SEMINAR «LEGAL FRAMEWORK OF THE ARMED FORCES IN SUPPORT OF PUBLIC SECURITY 2026»

The seminar “Legal Framework for the Armed Forces in Support of Public Security 2026” Its purpose is to create an academic space for analysis, reflection and exchange of experiences on the legal framework that regulates the participation of the Armed Forces in support of public security, in the face of the challenges currently faced by the States of the American continent.

Through four specialized presentations, the following topics will be addressed: constitutional foundations and democratic limits of military participation, the legal security of military personnel and their rules of conduct, the different models existing in America and their common challenges, as well as a A forward-looking vision of public safety towards the year 2035, considering the evolution of the functions and coordination mechanisms between police institutions and the Armed Forces.

The seminar will allow for the analysis of comparative experiences, the identification of legal, institutional, and operational challenges, and the promotion of knowledge exchange among specialists, academics, authorities, and military personnel. It will also contribute to strengthening action based on... legality, institutional responsibility, inter-institutional coordination, the rule of law and respect for fundamental rights.
