On Friday, January 23, in the Rubén Darío Hall of the Organization of American States (OAS) building, the ceremony was held to award the Two Gold Star Medal to Rear Admiral Henning Faltin (German Navy), who served as Permanent Observer of the European Union to the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB), and to Captain Daniel Di Bono, of the National Navy of Uruguay, who served as Alternate Delegate to the IADB.
The award was given upon their retirement this year. The ceremony was presided over by the highest authorities of the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) and was attended by military personnel and family members of the decorated officers, in an event that highlighted their professionalism, commitment, and valuable contributions to international cooperation in the areas of defense and hemispheric security.
