On September 28, the Inter-American Defense Board (IDB) will hold a Seminar on Women, Peace and Security in the Inter-American System, with the objective of disseminating successful experiences on the gender perspective in the field of hemispheric defense and security, in addition to contribute to cooperation between the countries of the continent in this matter.
The event represents a valuable opportunity to collect important information together with the Member States, with the purpose of advising on the development of specific measures on the WPS Agenda, a starting point for the IADB to contribute to the improvement of mechanisms for the integration of women in the Armed Forces of each country.
The Seminar will also present the foundations of the IADB MPS program, the support recently received from the Spanish Ministry of Defense, the work of relevant international organizations in the MPS Agenda and the results of a relevant study published by the Modern War Institute in July 2023 .
