JID PARTICIPATED IN VII CNIE – INTEROPERABILITY

The Inter-American Defense Board (IADB), as an observer member of the Inter-American Naval Conference (CNI), was invited to attend the VII Inter-American Specialized Naval Conference on Interoperability (CNIE-I), which took place from September 9 to 13, in Salinas – Ecuador. In this activity, the IADB was represented by the Head of the Hemispheric Situation Section of this Board, the Captain Carlos Pesantes Venturi of the Peruvian Navy.

The main focus throughout the event was the analysis of operations in response to different current situations, such as the fight against transnational illicit and humanitarian aid, through the Naval Forces formed by units from different countries, seeking to complement the capabilities with use of common doctrine to facilitate joint efforts.

Members of the Armed Forces of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, United States of America, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay participated in the VII CNIE-I. In addition to the General Commander of the Ecuadorian Navy, the Rear Admiral Darwin Jarrín Cisneros; and the Commander of Naval Operations and Head of the First Naval Zone, Rear Admiral Amílcar Villavicencio Palacios.
