The Inter-American Defense Board, in seeking to strengthen the union of all the nations of the American continent, has been holding meetings with the delegates of the countries that are not yet part of the institution.
Thus, on July 9, the Leadership of the IADB, represented by Lieutenant General Flávio Luiz de Oliveira Pinto, Director General of the IADB and Major General Richard J. Heitkamp, Director of the Inter-American Defense College, accompanied by the director of the Undersecretariat for Advisory Services and officials from the IADB Liaison Office to the OAS, met with Ambassador Lou-Anne Gaylene, Permanent Representative of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to the OAS, in order to invite that relevant Caribbean country to join the institution, as well as show the opportunities that the IADB offers its Member States in its different lines of action, such as Disaster Response, Maritime Safety, Environmental Protection, Women Peace and Security and Cybersecurity, among other.
The Ambassador indicated that according to the letter sent by the IADB and this meeting, she would inform the authorities of her country in order to manage a response to this invitation.
