The next December 11th The Inter-American Defense Board will promote the Seminar on Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law, with the theme "Integrating human rights and international humanitarian law into the culture of the Armed Forces: preparing troops for their application in military operations”.
The event will bring together experts on the subject, offering the opportunity and encouraging the exchange of information, experiences, lessons learned and best practices among IADB Member States and Observers, with a view to better preparing and employing their troops in military operations, inside and outside their countries, while respecting the rules of IHRL and IHL.
This will be a valuable opportunity to receive information that will allow military organizations, civilian groups, and the general public to gain new perspectives on the readiness of the Western Hemisphere's Armed Forces. Aimed at general public, the Seminar will be held in format in person and virtual.
