In the challenging scenario of global maritime security, the Inter-American Defense Board (IDB) marked its presence at the 11th Annual Eastern Maritime Security Conference, held from February 5 to 7 in Arlington, VA. This event brought together experts from the maritime sector – including the US Department of Defense, the US Department of Homeland Security, US port authorities and industry partners – to discuss challenges and best practices in maritime security. and port, emphasizing the importance of interagency collaboration and integration to face maritime challenges.
The participation of the IADB in this event stands out for its synchronization with the objectives of its Maritime Security Program, a strategic project focused on improving maritime security in the Americas.
