On June 2, General Porfirio Fuentes Vélez. General Director of the Secretariat of the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB), received at the “Casa del Soldado” the students of the Master's Degree in “Strategic Management”; “Command and General Staff” course and “Air Command and Staff” course at the Mexican War College.
This activity occurs as part of the international academic practices developed by the Higher School, with which it seeks to strengthen knowledge, experience and expertise in all topics related to the organization, projection and challenges facing the inter-American system.
The IADB, for its part, provided a lecture on the history, achievements, perspectives and objectives of the institution, as an essential part of the coordination of the countries of the hemisphere; Fundamental topics within security and defense were also addressed, such as: cyber defense and cybersecurity, natural disasters, humanitarian demining, knowledge and application of the complementary training programs that the board has been developing for the benefit of the countries that comprise it and the measures confidence-building and hemispheric security, among others.
These types of activities contribute to strengthening the response capacity and services provided by the continent's institutions and are developed within the framework of the commemoration of 80 years of hemispheric cooperation and solidarity of the Inter-American Defense Board.
