Visit of the Delegate of Guyana to the leadership of the IADB

In a working meeting aimed at strengthening mutual collaboration and commitment, Colonel Julius Randolph Skeete, Delegate of Guyana to the IADB, visited the Soldier's House on January 9. On that occasion, he was received by the leadership of the IADB, represented by the President of the Council of Delegates, General Marco Antonio Alvarez Reyes, and the Director General, Brigadier Flávio Luiz de Oliveira Pinto.

Topics discussed included Guyana's willingness to work together with the IADB to develop a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Guyana; advise on the design of a Defense Institute; and the participation of the country's Defense personnel in the IADB.

Aware of the purpose of supporting member states in facing traditional threats, emerging threats, concerns and other security and defense challenges, the IADB reaffirms its commitment to providing educational, technical and consultative advice, contributing to compliance with the OAS Charter and to strengthening security and stability in our region.

The IADB thanks the Delegation of the Republic of Guyana for the initiatives presented, which will be worked on cooperatively, contributing to strengthening the capacities of its Member States and hemispheric security.
