On June 23, at the “Casa del Soldado”, General Porfirio Fuentes Vélez. General Director of the Secretariat of the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB), received the General Director of International Relations of the Ministry of Defense of Peru.
The meeting is part of the activities with which the different institutions of the continent contribute to the knowledge and strengthening of the Inter-American System; having as its fundamental objective the exchange of experiences and the strengthening of expertise on issues related to the organization, projection and joint overcoming of the challenges inherent to multidimensional security and Hemispheric cooperation.
The IADB, for its part, discussed the history, achievements, perspectives and objectives of the institution, as an essential part of the articulation of the different nations; Fundamental topics were also addressed such as: cyber defense and cybersecurity, natural disasters, humanitarian demining, knowledge and application of the complementary training programs that the board has been developing for the benefit of the countries that comprise it, and confidence-building and security measures. , among others.
These types of activities are carried out within the framework of the commemoration of the 80 years of hemispheric cooperation and solidarity of the Inter-American Defense Board and contribute to strengthening the response capacity and services provided by the institutions of the American continent.
