The IADB honors institutions and personalities committed to the fight against antipersonnel mines

Within the framework of the commemorations referring to the 30 years of Humanitarian Demining in the American continent, held last Tuesday in Bogotá-Colombia, the Inter-American Defense Board carried out the decoration of institutions and personalities committed to the task of eradicating mines antipersonnel in the hemisphere, including the Directorate of Veterans and Inclusive Rehabilitation (DIVRI) of the Colombian Ministry of Defense.

The mention is a recognition of the relevant services provided by countless people and institutions during the last three decades, in favor of the noble purpose of eliminating antipersonnel mines from our continent and providing new life perspectives to those affected by this terrible scourge.

The citation was presented by Brigadier General Porfirio Fuentes Vélez (Mexico), Director of the IADB Secretariat and one of the high-level representatives of the IADB at events taking place in Colombian territory.

30 years of Humanitarian Demining on the American continent: the IADB is extremely proud to be part of this fight and this history!
