On January 20, the members of the Group of Inter-American Technical Advisors in Colombia (GATI-CO), dependent on the Inter-American Defense Board, began the activities of the first Course of National Humanitarian Demining Monitors (CMNDH) of 2022.
The instructions will follow all protective measures against Covid-19, in accordance with the determinations of the General Command of the Military Forces (CGFM). The course has 10 (ten) students and began with an initial class where they had all the orientations and learned about the Technical Standards that regulate the CMNDH. Next, they carried out a diagnostic evaluation of knowledge about humanitarian demining in Colombia that will help the instructors measure the depth of their understanding of the subject in order to adapt the classes.
The selected students are from the Navy and the National Army of Colombia. All have experience in demining operations and are certified as National Supervisors and Team Leaders in their Humanitarian Demining Organizations (HDO).
The course will be carried out in person at the facilities of the School of Military Engineers (ESING), it will last 8 (eight) weeks and theoretical and practical instructions and evaluations will be developed. The closing and certification, for those who achieve complete success, is scheduled for March 8.
